JOE ABKIN is a founding member of the Firm and has practiced law in Santa Barbara since 1970, although Joe spent approximately two years in the Washington, D.C., office of Schramm, Raddue & Seed in 1972-1973. 

Joe has always focused his practice on business matters, including organization and counseling of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, mergers and acquisitions, securities, financings, real estate, taxation, commercial transactions, and trade association matters. He serves as outside general counsel to various types of business enterprises. He is experienced in the negotiation and preparation of contracts involving international transactions. Joe represents international trade associations involved with various aspects of the consumer electronics and computer data storage industries.

Joe received his law degree from the University of California, Davis, in 1969. He served as an Editor of the UC Davis Law Review. Joe was admitted to practice in California in 1970, and in the District of Columbia in 1972. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation.
