Attorneys
DAVID J. TAPPEINER joined the firm in June of
2006. David was born in Santa Barbara and lived here
until 1997, when he and his wife moved to the State of
Colorado. Prior to moving to the State of Colorado,
David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and
Society from the University of Santa Barbara
California in 1997.
In Colorado, David attended the University of Denver
College of Law, receiving his law degree in May of 2000.
While attending the University of Denver College of Law,
David was a member of the Denver University Law Review
from 1998-2000 and also participated in the Student Law
Office, representing indigent clients in various
matters. Upon graduation from the University of Denver
College of Law, David worked as an associate at a
prestigious Denver law firm, focusing his practice in
the estate and trust area. David has also lectured for
National Business Institute and Lorman on various estate
topics for the CLE program in the State of Colorado .
David’s practice emphasizes estate and tax planning,
probate, estate and trust administration, and
litigation.
David provides estate planning services for clients,
which includes the preparation of wills, revocable and
irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, powers of
attorney, pre and post-marital property agreements, and
establishment of private foundations. David will also
represent individual and corporate fiduciaries with
respect to the administration of trusts and estates, and
handles litigated and mediated disputes.
David is admitted to the State Bar of Colorado and has
recently passed the California Bar Exam and will be
admitted to the California Bar. David is also admitted
to the United States Tax Court and the District Court
for the 10th Circuit. In his off time, David enjoys
spending time with his family and friends, surfing and
basketball.
