Firm Profile
Fell, Marking,
Abkin, Montgomery, Granet & Raney, LLP, a California
Limited Liability Partnership, was founded in 1977, when
Doug Fell, Joe Abkin and
Rick Montgomery left the firm of Schramm, Raddue & Seed to create a new Firm with
Phil Marking (who had also previously
been at Schramm, Raddue & Seed). The objective of the Firm has always been to produce the highest quality work product - to equal or better the work product of the “big firms”- while maintaining the relatively small size of the Firm and its associated benefits. The primary tactic to achieve this objective has been hard work by all of the attorneys in the Firm - day in and day out. The Firm has a reputation of being highly responsive to the needs of its clients and for producing high quality work. A key advantage of the relatively small size of the Firm is that the client has the benefit of working directly with the individual attorney whom the client retains. Also, the Firm is organized in a manner that eliminates any intra-Firm competition and, therefore, the attorney who is most qualified to handle the particular task will readily assist the client’s general attorney. All of the attorneys in the Firm have strong academic backgrounds and training.
There are presently
17 attorneys in the Firm. Internally, the Firm is organized generally into three practice areas:
(i) Business, Real Estate, and Technology; (ii) Litigation; and (iii) Estate Planning and Administration. The Firm represents clients throughout the world in a wide range of areas, including complex business and real estate transactions, estate planning and administration, dispute resolution and litigation, trade association law, technology and e-commerce transactions, taxation, environmental law, eminent domain, land use and development, mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. |
